Domtar Park – Baseball / Softball Fields
Domtar Park is a multi-purpose community park located on Long Island of the Holston River. Long Island has historic significance as a site where peaceful Indian gatherings were held. The Cherokee Nation owns property on Long Island, which is commemorated by a stone marker. The park has high quality athletic fields which are open when scheduled for events. Domtar Park is a tobacco-free facility.
The Park features include:
2 – 200′ distance Bermuda grass infield ball fields, 2 – 350’ distance Bermuda grass infield ball fields, 2 – 200’ distance dirt infield ball fields, 2 – 300’ distance dirt infield ball fields and 2 – batting cages (open year round). Each field is suitable for either baseball or softball, is equipped with an electronic scoreboard and bleachers and is fenced/lighted.
2 – 13′ x 17′ climate controlled meeting rooms, an 11′ x 18′ boat access ramp, full service concessions (operated by Kingsport Parks and Recreation), a large children’s playground, 2 lighted flagpoles, lighted parking lots, a 3,315 linear foot paved walking trail, picnic tables with umbrellas, ornamental landscaping, restrooms and a sand volleyball court are also available at the park.
