Riverview Park – Picnic Shelters

Riverview Park is an 8 acre neighborhood park with many recreation components.

The Park features include:

2 – 30′ x 30′ picnic shelters with 3 tables each and barbecue grills. An asphalt outdoor basketball court, a children’s playground, lighted open green space, park benches, 2 lighted tennis courts, restroom facilities, and a water fountain are also available at the park.

Riverview Park is adjacent to the Riverview Splash Pad.

Riverview Park is open dawn to dark, except when scheduled for events.

Rotherwood Park – Picnic Shelters

Rotherwood Park is a 1.25 acre neighborhood park with many recreation components.

The Park features include:

A 20′ x 36′ shelter with picnic tables and a 166′ shelter/gazebo.

Barbecue grills, a children’s playground, a half court basketball area, open green space and an unpaved walking trail are also available at the park. Rotherwood Park is open dawn to dark, except when scheduled for events.

Rotary Park is a 1.3 acre neighborhood park located adjacent to a senior housing facility with many recreation components.

The Park features include:

A 24′ x 24′ picnic shelter with tables, park benches and an outdoor barbecue grill. Open green space and a walking trail are also available at the park.

Rotary Park is open dawn to dark, except when scheduled for events.

Riverwalk Park is an 5.6 acre open space recreation area adjacent to the Kingsport Greenbelt.

The Park features include:

A 30’ x 30’ picnic shelter with tables.

A bicycle rack, a bicycle repair station, a piece of outdoor fitness equipment, power access and trash receptacles are also available at the park.  The fitness equipment features an elliptical machine and bench press that provides users an opportunity to exercise while enjoying a beautiful view of the Holston River.

Boatyard Riverfront Park – Picnic Shelters

Boatyard Riverfront Park is a 19 acre community park located adjacent to the South fork of the Holston River.

The Park features include: 

A 42′ x 26′ Civitan shelter with picnic tables.

Access to the Kingsport Greenbelt, barbecue grills, bicycle racks, 2 boat ramps, a children’s playground, fishing piers, a flatboat replica, historic markers, park benches, picnic tables, public restrooms and/or port-o-lets (off season), a swinging bridge connecting to Long Island and water fountains are also available at the park. Fishing is allowed until 10:30 p.m. Fishing license is required.

Boatyard Riverfront Park is open dawn to dark, except when scheduled for events.

Preston Forest Park – Picnic Shelters

Preston Forest Park is a 3 acre neighborhood park with many recreation components.

The Park features include:

A 390 sq. ft. pavilion-style shelter with picnic tables.

An asphalt basketball court, a backstop for baseball/softball, a children’s playground, open green space, an outdoor fire grill, park benches, a small parking area, picnic tables, soccer goals and a water fountain are also available at the park.

Cloud Park is a 7 acre park with many recreation components.

The Park features include:

4 – 24′ x 24′ picnic shelters with 1 table.

A bicycle air pump, a bicycle rack, a concrete basketball court, a fenced children’s playground, picnic space, restrooms and a water fountain are also available at the park. The Kingsport Greenbelt and Scott Adams Skate Park are adjacent to Cloud Park.

Borden Park – Picnic Shelters

Borden Park is a 17 acre neighborhood park with many recreational components.

The Park features include:

2 – 48′ x 22′ Shelters with 2 picnic tables and an outdoor grill, 1 – 44’ x 20’ shelter with 3 picnic tables and an outdoor grill and 3 – 22′ x 22′ shelters with 1 picnic table and an outdoor grill.

An arboretum, an asphalt basketball court, a children’s playground, a community building, an 18-hole disc golf course, 6 lighted tennis courts, outdoor restrooms and/or port-o-lets, park benches and a paved walking trail are also available at the park.

Allandale Mansion – Brooks Pavilion

Allandale Mansion was given to the City of Kingsport in 1969. Built in 1950 by Ruth and Harvey Brooks, Allandale still houses their fine furnishings. Once a 500 acre farm where Mr. Brooks raised his championship Black Angus cows and blue-ribbon walking horses, Allandale Mansion is now an elegant public facility.

The Facility features include:

The Brooks Pavilion, located on the West end of the property beside a pond, is an open air pavilion that was previously a barn.  The pavilion has a concrete floor, a water bib connection, ceiling fans and overhead lighting.  Ornamental landscaping surrounds the facility and restrooms are adjacent. Estimated seating capacity 175.

An amphitheater, two gazebos, a Georgian style mansion, park benches, picnic tables, two barns and two stocked ponds are also available at the facility. Fishing license is required.

The grounds of Allandale Mansion are open daily dawn to dark, except when scheduled for events.
